Welcome! Our weekly ART CLASSES for the 2012-2013
school year will be ending in May. Classes resume in September. 11, 2012 and run through May,
2013.
We are an established multi-media fine art program with a 20 year history of teaching after school fine art classes to children
ages 5-17. We are also award winning professional artists whose
unique teaching program is designed to provide children an opportunity to explore and develop confidence in
their own creativity through a step by step skills program!
Children love to draw, paint and sculpt. Our philosophy and our experience has shown us that
children want to know HOW to achieve results. With that in mind, our Art School Program teaches a wonderfully
diversified curriculum. Students are treated to a variety of different styles of art...and there are a lot!
Contemporary, abstract, impressionism, realism and a sampling of cultural art. , design and portraiture specific to
the age group. We'll work with different mediums (from pencils, pastels, watercolors, sculpture and acrylic
paints). Each month we'll focus on and explore different art techniques and mediums with projects that will range
from illustration to cartooning, design and portraiture specific to the age group.
Class location is at the Wake Forest Frame
Shop, located at 139 S. White St. in downtown Wake
Forest. It offers an ideal, central location for students and their parents. While the children are
immersed in art, parents can browse the art gallery, select frames for their children's art, browse through the
book store, relax at the coffee shop across the street or run "in town" errands.
Getting started in your ongoing Art
Class
The nitty
gritty but necessary details!
Attendance: Regular attendance not only contributes to the success of your child's achievements but serves as a valuable
life lesson about completing what you start :-). It also let's your child know that you value their art and
the time they spend with it!
Art is not only fun but it encourages so many additional benficial skills from fine motor to problem
solving. Just like music or dance, it is also a skill built upon practice. We encourage regular attendance
since we do not pro-rate the classes or offer refunds for missed lessons. Most months will have 4 lessons but
some will have 5, however, your investment in each month remains the same.
Payment : Payment is
due at the beginning of each month and we can accept checks or credit cards at the class or send a Paypal
invoice.
A $10.00, one
time, non-refundable, fee is a combination registration/supply fee and guarantees your child one of the eight
places as well as an awesome art package! All supplies included for the rest of the year.
Classes are $50.00 a month. Discounts for additional children in
the same family!
We keep you up to date with photos and class information! All
parents of students are subscribed to our monthly Art Student Academy online newsletter! Special notices specific
to just the after school classes however will go out to the parents in a group email.
